Project Goals

• Revitalize the village of Rapone by enhancing its intangible cultural heritage: its rich tradition of storytelling and folk tales, which expresses the deepest identity of the local community.
• Transform Rapone into a vibrant and attractive destination for both Italian and international visitors.

Key Actions

• Establish a Documentation Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage, aimed at scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts of folklore, oral traditions, ethnography, and more.
• Launch the Fairy Tale Library of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean.
• Organize events and festivals inspired by fairy tales, actively involving the local community.
• Create a Creative Lab Center for designing and producing fairy-tale-inspired costumes, targeting residents and women.
• Digitalize the local cultural heritage and integrate it into the “National Map of Wonders”—a platform showcasing nature, history, traditions, events, and the local cultural and economic offer of inland and rural Italy.
• Develop a dedicated web portal.
• Promote widespread hospitality, encouraging residents to host visitors by renovating and making use of private homes
• Enhance the woodland heritage by using biomass for energy production and upgrading forest trails.
